Using Printer Utilities

Your QwikLaser 6100 CD contains the following utilities, which can be installed when you install the printer drivers:

Remote Control Panel

Status Monitor

Note: Remote Control Panel and Status Monitor can be used when the printer is connected via the parallel and USB(Windows 98 only) interface.

To access any of these programs, from Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0: Select Start Programs Samsung 6100 Series Utility.

Remote Control Panel

The Remote Control Panel (RCP) is a program that allows you to set printer-specific settings in the printer. It also allows you to properly set up your printer to work with DOS applications which run inside the Windows MS-DOS Command Prompt window.

Note: After you change RCP settings, you must send it to the printer by pressing the Send button.

The screen includes the following tabs.

PRINTING

Use this tab to control the following printer features:

Paper Size sets the paper size.

Paper Source sets the default paper source.

Copies sets the number of copies printed for each page.

Quality sets the printer resolution to either 300 or 600 dpi. The higher the setting, the sharper the clarity of printed characters and graphics.

Orientation determines how the output is printed on the page.

Top Margin sets the top margin of the print material.

Left Margin sets the left margin of the print material.

Auto CR sets how the printer performs a carriage return.
