Playing Discs

It is not possible to play continuously from one side of a double sided disc to the other. You will need to eject the disc and turn it over.

When using 8 cm (3″) DVD-RAM, remove the disc from the cartridge.

1 Press OPEN/CLOSE on the unit to open the tray and insert a disc. (p. 34)

• Press the button again to close the tray.

2 Press PLAY/×1.3.

• The unit takes some time to read the disc before play starts.

RAM DVD-R

Play starts from the most recently recorded title.

Play starts from the beginning of the disc.

Notes:

DVD-V DVD-A VCD

Depending on the disc, playback may start automatically.

RAM If cartridge protection is activated (p. 9), play begins automatically when you close the tray.

DVD-V DVD-A VCD

If an interactive Disc is used, the DVD Main Menu appears.

MP3 If a menu screen is used, it is possible to playback looking at disc tree view. (p. 47)

To stop play

Press STOP.

DVD-V DVD-A CD VCD MP3

Press STOP again to return to the television screen.

When “PLAY” flashes on the Front Display, resume function is active. (See below.)

The screen saver may appear when you stop play. Press STOP again and you can use this unit’s tuner to watch television.

To pause play

Press PAUSE.

• Press again to restart play.

When a menu screen appears on the

television

1 Press ▲▼◄► to select the item and press ENTER.

• Some items can also be selected using the NUMBER keys.

VCD

1 Press NUMBER keys to select the item.

e.g., 5: [0] → [5]

15: [1] → [5]

To return to the menu screen

Press TOP MENU.

DVD-V

:

Press TOP MENU or SUB MENU.

VCD

:

Press RETURN.

Notes:

If “” appears on the screen, the operation is prohibited by the unit or disc.

The operation is different by disc. Please follow the guidance of the screen.

To cancel the resume function (Normal play only)

Press STOP while the unit remembers the position. (The position is also cleared when you turn the unit off.)
