Depending on the inserted DVD/VCD/S-VCD it is possible that the contents of the DVD/VCD/s-VCD will not playback immediately, rather first a selection menu appears on the television screen.

In this case select with the Navigation buttons f 5! the menu item, which will start

the playback of the film.

To start the playback of the film...

Press the button OK d ENTER 5@ or press the button PLAY/PAUSE q 4#.

10.2Playback functions when playing back DVDs, VCDs, S-VCDs,

DivX/MPEG or Audio CDs

During the playback of a DVD/VCD/S-VCD you can use the following DVD player functions.

Pause playback

To pause the playback:

During playback press the button; PLAY/PAUSE q 4#.

The prompt " " appears in the display.

The display shows a freeze frame of the scene you have just paused.

To continue with playback of the film press the button PLAY/PAUSE q 4#.

Stop playback

To stop playback press the button STOP w 4$.

Resume function

If you stopped playback of the inserted DVD/VCD/ S-VCD by pressing the STOP w 4$ button once then the DVD player automatically saves the position, at which playback was stopped. This function is called "Resume function". The display will show TO RESUME: PRESS PLAY BUTTON. As soon as you press the PLAY/PAUSE q 4# button again playback will continue from the saved position.

If you press the STOP w 4$ button a second time the saved position, at which you stopped playback is deleted. As soon as you press the PLAY/PAUSE

q4# button again playback of the inserted DVD/VCD/S-VCD starts from the beginning.

Skip to beginning of chapter (SKIP)

Note:

This function may not be available on all DVDs/VCDs/S-VCDs! If you attempt to carry out a function that is not available the symbol will be displayed on the television screen.

• With the buttons SKIP u 3( forward and SKIP i 3* backwards you can, during playback, skip within the film on the inserted DVD/VCD/S-VCD to the beginning of the next chapter or skip back to the previous chapter

The respectively selected chapter will immediately playback without you having to press the PLAY/PAUSE q 4# button. The number of the re- spectively selected chapter will be displayed on the front panel of the DVD player to the left of the played back so far time.
