Playing an Audio CD or HDCD

You can also use your DVD player to play Audio CDs or HDCDs.

1.Insert an Audio CD or HDCD. Playback starts usually automatically. If play- back does not start automatically, press the Play button Aon the remote control or on the front of the DVD player.

Note for Audio CD and HDCD display:

If the TV is on, the current track number, the available tracks on the disc and the time information will be shown on the TV screen (see illustration on the left side). You can also switch this display off by pressing the “DISPLAY” button on your remote control.

Attention:

When playing a copy-pro- tected Audio CD, your play- er may produce some mis- takes due to the copy pro- tection (e.g. when display- ing the time). This is no fault of your DVD player.

2. Stop playback using the Stop button J.

Additional playing functions:

With the button Hor Fyou can select the previous or next track.

When playing an Audio CD and HDCD, you can also use the repeat func- tions. For this please use the buttons “REPEAT A-B”and “REPEAT 1/ALL”.

Playing an MP3 disc

MP3 (MPEG1 Audio Layer-3) files are highly compressed music files. Using this technology the data volume can be compressed by a factor of 10. This means it is possible to record 10 hours music in CD quality on a single CD-ROM.

When creating MP3 discs, please note the following:

File system: ISO9660, Joliet

Formats: *.mp3

File names: maximum 64 ASCII characters (Joliet)

1.Insert an MP3 disc. If playback does not start automatically, select the requi- red folder using the direction button Cor Dand press “ENTER” to confirm your selection. Select now the track you want to play.

Note for MP3 display:

If the TV is on, the MP3 screen appears automatically (see illustration on the left side). The current selected track or folder will be highlighted on the TV screen.

Note :

To return to the folder selection, please press the direction button B.

You are able to switch between the folders and files available on the disc by pressing the “PROGRAM” button.

2.Press the Play button Aor the button “ENTER” to start the playback.

3.Stop playback using the Stop button J.
