SACD mode

If you want to play a Super Audio CD you have the possibility to select different output options:

Multi-channel: If you select the multi-channel mode you will achieve the best sound quality. This sound quality is comparable with Dolby Digital 5.1.

2 channel: The SACD is played in stereo mode when selecting the 2 channel mode. This sound quality is better than the sound quality in the CD mode.

CD mode: The SACD is played in stereo mode as well (same as the 2 channel mode), but with a worse quality.

Note to CD mode:

If your SACD also supports playback on usual CD players, in CD mode the disc will be played as Audio CD and not as SACD. Please note that the dis- play will also be changed in such a case (see illustration on the left side) and only the features as when playing an Audio CD (see page 29) will be availa- ble.

If playback on usual CD players is not supported by your SACD, the disc will be played in 2 channel mode, also if set to CD mode.
