Multi-Brand Remote Control

When programed (set) with a manufacturer’s (brand’s) code, this Remote can perform some of the remote control functions of the listed TVs, cable boxes and DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) receivers. You can control a JVC TV without setting a brand code.

NOTES:

Some unit’s brands have more than one code listed. If after setting, the remote does not operate the unit, try one of the other listed codes.

Depending on the type of unit, some or all functions cannot be operated using this Remote.

It is impossible to control a unit that does not have a remote sensor.

It is not possible to set the Remote for both your cable box and a DBS receiver at the same time.

Once you have set the Remote to operate a unit, you do not have to set it again until you replace the Remote’s batteries.

If the batteries of the Remote are discharged, the Remote will not be able to control the TV, cable box or DBS receiver. Replace the batteries.

Changing Remote Control Code

This Remote is capable of transmitting two different control codes, A code control signals or B code control signals. This Remote is preset to send A code signals because your VCR is initially set to respond to A code signals. You can easily change your Remote and VCR to send and respond to B code signals. When using two JVC VCRs, set the two VCRs and their Remotes to different codes, so that the Remotes can operate the VCRs separately.

Set the VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS selector on the Remote to “VCR”.

ASet remote control code for Remote

APress and hold A/B.

BPress the Number key 2”.

CPress STOP (8), and release A/B.

The Remote now can transmit B code control signals.

BCheck remote control code for VCR

Press and hold 4 on the VCR for more than 5 seconds while the VCR is turned off. The code currently set appears on the display panel.
