Turning on your TV for the first time

The first time you turn on your TV, the Plug & Play wizard opens. The Plug & Play wizard guides you through setting up basic settings including the menu language, TV signal source, the channel list, and time.

To set up your TV:

1Make sure that you have:

Installed the remote control batteries. (See page 8 for details.)

Connected an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV. (See pages 10 through 11 for details.)

Connected the power cord. (See page 9 for details.)

2Press (power). The Plug&Play introduction screen appears.

Menu Language, Store Demo, Channels, and Time will be set.

You can also access these settings from the on-screen menu.

Press MENU on the remote control, press or to highlight SETUP, then press ENTER. Press or to select Plug&Play, press ENTER, then press or to select the setting you want to adjust.

3Press ENTER. The Sets the menu language menu opens.

4Press ENTER to access the menu, then press

or to highlight a language. You can select English, French, or Spanish.

5Press ENTER. The Select Home Use when installing this TV in your home screen appears.

Select ‘Home Use’ when installing this TV in your home.

Store Demo

Note

Store Demo mode is only intended for use in retail environments.

If your TV is accidentally set to Store Demo mode, reset the Plug & Play option. For more information, see “Resetting the Plug & Play option” on page 38.

6Press or to highlight Home Use, then press ENTER. The Select the Antenna source to memorize screen appears.

7Press or to highlight your TV signal source, then press ENTER. You can select Air (antenna), Cable (cable TV), or Auto (both antenna and cable TV). If you have digital cable, select Auto.

8If you select Cable, press or , or to highlight the cable TV signal type, then press ENTER. You can select STD, HRC, or IRC for analog (antenna-based or without a cable box) or digital signals. STD is the most common setting. If you do not know which type of cable TV signal you have, contact your cable TV provider.
