Event configuration

This section describes how to configure the AXIS 241QA/AXIS 241SA for alarm handling. Various actions can be configured to run when certain types of events occur.

Event type

A set of parameters describing how and when the video server is to perform certain actions

 

 

 

Triggered Event (see page 40)

the circumstances that start an event

at a signal from an external device, such as a door

 

switch or a motion sensor

 

 

 

 

 

Scheduled Event (see page 41)

the circumstances that start an event

at a pre-programmed time

 

 

 

Action

what occurs when the event runs

Event servers

Event Servers are used for receiving uploaded image files and/or notification messages. To set up an Event server for your AXIS 241QA/AXIS 241SA, click on Event Servers under Event Config and enter the required information according to the selected server type.

• Use passive mode if there is a firewall between the video

• Use a temporary file if your FTP server does not allow an

HTTP Server

receives notification messages

Note: The images in pre-trigger and post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails.

When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the test takes approximately 10 seconds).
