POWER Button

Press to turn on or off the VCR, TV, Cable Box, or Direct Broadcast System. (You must first press the VCR, TV, or CBL/DBS button.) Press and hold to set the Child Lock. Details are on page 48.

EJECT Button

Press to eject the tape.

MEMORY Button

Press to memorize a tape position at which the real-time counter was set to 0:00:00. Details are on page 53.

PAUSE/STILL Button

While recording, press to pause the recording. Press a second time to resume normal recording. Details are on page 31. You can not pause a One-Touch Recording. During playback, press to freeze the picture. Press again to resume playback. Details are on page 47.

PLAY/o Button

Press to play a tape; press to release Slow, Search, or Still mode and return to normal playback. Details are on pages 46-47.Press to select an item in the VCR menu. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, press when in TV mode to move up one row or selection in the TV menu.

F.FWD(Fast Forward)/B Button

When playback is stopped, press to fast forward the tape at high speed. During playback, press to fast forward the tape while the picture stays on the screen. Details are on page 46. Or, if you have a Magnavox, Philips, or Philips Magnavox TV, use to adjust the controls in the TV menu.

CLEAR Button

Press to erase incorrect information when programming VCR features. Press to reset the real-time counter. Details are on page 53.

VOL(ume) o/p Button

Press to adjust the TV’s volume.

During tape playback, press to view the picture in slow motion. Press again to resume normal playback. Details are on page 47.

X2 PLAY Button

During tape playback, press to watch a tape at two times the normal play- back speed. Details are on page 46.

SKIP SEARCH Button

Press during tape playback to skip forward 30 seconds at a time. Details are on page 52.

VCR PLUS+/ENTER Button

Press to set a timer recording with the VCR Plus+ programming system. Details are on pages 38-41.

Or, press after pressing the Number buttons to select a channel at the TV or the Cable Box. Details are on pages 21-22.

REC(ord) END SEARCH Button

Press to search forward to an unrecorded portion of the tape. Details are on page 52.

Helpful Hints

Press the VCR button before pressing other VCR buttons; press the TV button before pressing other TV buttons; press the CBL/DBS button before pressing other Cable Box/Direct Broadcast System buttons.

The buttons with a shaded description may also operate features of your TV, Cable Box, or Direct Broadcast System.

Buttons that are shaded in the illustration light up for five seconds when you press any button on the remote control.
