20 Remote Control Buttons

TV Button

Press this button before pressing other TV operation buttons.

CBL/DBS Button

Press this button before pressing Cable Box/DBS operation buttons.

PLAY 8 Button

In VCR mode, press to play a tape. Also, press to release Slow, Still, or Search mode and to return to nor- mal playback. Details are on page 48. In TV mode, press to move up or forward one row or selection in the TV menu.

REW(ind) ; Button

When tape playback is stopped, press to rewind the tape at high speed. During tape playback, press to rewind the tape while the picture stays on-screen. Details are on page

REC(ord)/OTR Button Press once to start a recording. Details are on page 29. Or, press repeatedly to start a One-Touch Recording. Details are on page 30.

VCR Button

Press this button before pressing VCR operation buttons.

POWER Button

After pressing the CBL/DBS, VCR, or TV button, press to turn on or off the Cable Box/DBS, VCR, or TV.

EJECT Button

Press to eject the tape.

FF(Fast Forward) :/OK

Button

When tape playback is stopped, press to advance the tape at high speed. During tape playback, press to advance the tape while the pic- ture stays on-screen. Details are on page 48. Or, press to adjust (increase) the picture controls or to change a menu setting at the TV menu.

STOP 9 Button

Press to stop the tape. Or press to move down or backward one row or selection in the TV menu.

Number Buttons

After pressing the CBL/DBS, TV, or VCR button, press to select a chan-

VCR/TV Button

Press to select the signal that your TV receives.

VCR Position

Use to watch a tape, to watch a program while recording it, or to watch a TV broadcast using the CH(annel) 8/9 or Number but- tons to change channels at the VCR. The VCR light will appear on the display panel when the VCR is in VCR position.

TV Position

Use to watch TV (selecting channels at the TV) or to watch one pro- gram while recording another. Details are on page 31. The VCR light will not appear when the VCR is in TV position.
