FireStore FS-3 User Guide

The FS-3 buttons (other than MENU, DISP and SHFT) are locked out when in this mode, as is wired or infrared remote control units. If in VTR mode on the camcorder, all keys work. The user is only able to exit SYNCRO SLAVE by entering the CONTROL MENU which they can do directly by pressing the MENU button when on the FS-3 default splash screen. If the camcorder is set to VTR mode, FS-3’s control panel becomes active in order to allow playback.

HDD BYPASS

HDD Bypass mode allows the connected FireWire HDD to be mounted/dismounted to a computer without removing. In this mode, the computer connects to the HDD I/O port

on the FS-3 Rear Connector Panel.

WARNING: Do not connect FS-3 to a computer until the HDD port in the set up menu has been set to Bypass.

When HDD Bypass is selected, the following will display on the FS-3 LCD:

If this screen does not appear, the FS-3 HDD I/O port is set for use with external drives.

To set the HDD Port, go to the Main Menu and select SETUP -> HDD PORT. Once set, it will be possible to set FS-3 to HDD Bypass mode.

Once in HDD Bypass mode, the following LCD display will appear:

To Exit this mode, simply press the EXIT key. Be sure to properly dismount the FireWire drive from the computer system first before exiting HDD Bypass mode on FS-3.

RECORD FORMAT MENU

The RECORD FORMAT menu allows selection of particular DTE Technology native NLE file formats prior to recording. All files are in the DV25 standard.
