Freq uently Asked Questions
Q:What would cause strange lines on the scanned picture or unclear?
A:Check the following:
Are there scratches on the original, or is the original clean? Remove any stains or dust from the original before scanning.
Has the scanner been used for a long period of time without cleaning and calibration? Follow the instructions for "Cleaning the scanner" on page 18 and “Calibrating the scanner" on page 19, and then try again.
Q:Why isn’t the scanned filmstrip image rotating properly?
A:The current “auxiliary” OCR capability has difficulty distinguishing the direction of some numbers, (i.e.,“6”, “9”). If the number’s position is near the edge of the filmstrip, it can easily be worn out or damaged, and then it can’t be detected in the expected position, or meet the required conditions causing the Auto Mirror/Flip function to be disabled (see page 10). Please follow the indicator on the filmstrip guide adapter to
Q:How do I clear an original that is stuck halfway in the feed slot?
A:Press the Power button; the scanner ejects the original so you can remove the jammed original from the feed slot in photo/slide scanning, and Transparency output slot in filmstrip scanning.
