3 Getting started

3.1Connect the base station

1Connect the output plug of the mains adapter to the bottom of the

base station and the mains adapter to a standard wall outlet.

2Connect one end of the ethernet cable to the ethernet socket on the bottom of the base station and the other end to an ADSL/Cable modem or a router or a switch/hub

connected to the Internet.

3Connect the telephone line cord to the phone socket at the bottom of the base station and the wall phone socket.

3.2Connect your charger

1Connect the mains adapter to a standard wall outlet.

3.3Install your handset

!Warning

RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE. Never use non-rechargeable batteries. Use recommended type supplied with this product. NiMH batteries must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable waste disposal regulations.

Note

Charge the handset(s) for 24 hours before initial use!

1The batteries are pre-installed in your handset. Before charging, remove the pull-tape.

2Place the handset on the charger. When the handset is placed correctly in its charging position, a

tone will be emitted and the battery

icon will scroll , indicating that the battery is charging. Once

the battery is fully charged, the

battery icon will appear steadily.
