mode’s main display. The second buoy location is now stored in the temporary memory.

5.Scroll to Startline and short press Enter.

6.Scroll to either Buoy S or Buoy P and short press Enter. The text “buoy stored” is displayed. The start line is now set, and you return to the Function menu. Suunto M9 begins to display the distance to the start line.

To set the start line information with one buoy and line direc- tion:

1.Sail to the buoy and short press Enter in the Racing mode’s main display.

2.Scroll to Startline and short press Enter. The buoy location is now stored in the temporary memory.

3.Scroll to either Buoy S or Buoy P and short press Enter to confirm selection. The unit goes back to the main mode.

4.The start line direction is calculated from the compass read- ing of the unit. Sail along the start line and align the unit with the line. Short press Enter to store the compass bearing into the temporary memory.

5.Scroll to LineDir with the arrow buttons and short press Enter. The degree field is activated.

6.The start line is now set.

WINDdir

The WINDdir function allows you to record the wind direction and force.

To record the wind direction:

1.Point the Suunto M9 to the wind and short press Enter. The WINDdir is stored to the temporary memory.

2.Scroll to Wind Dir and short press Enter. The following information is displayed:
