TIGHTENING THE CABLES
Woven cable, the type of cable used on the home gym system, can stretch slightly when it is first used. If there is slack in the cables before resistance is felt, the cables should be tightened.
Slack can be removed from the cables by tightening the Long Cable (23) (see drawing 1). To tighten the Long Cable, first loosen the 1/2Ó Plain Nut (81). Next tighten the end of the Long Cable further into the Weight Tube (63). Tighten the 1/2Ó Plain Nut against the 1/2Ó Flat Washer (82).After tightening the Long Cable, you must also tighten the 1/2Ó Plain Nut (81) against the 1/2Ó Flat Washer (82).
To remove slack from the Medium Cable (58), tighten the 1/2Ó Nylon Locknut (2) on the Long ÒUÓ Bracket (57). To do this you may need to remove the Long Cable (23) from the Weight Tube (63) or remove the 3 1/2Ó Pulley (15) from the Long
Additional slack can be removed by moving the 3 1/2Ó Pulley (15) to the other hole in the Long
Make sure that the cables are not too tight, or the Top Weight (76) will be lifted off the weight stack.
If the cables need to be replaced, see the back cover of this manual.
