Additional options

By selecting one or more pushbutton functions, basic programs can be tai- lored to the type of laundry being washed.

“Pre-wash”

Use for heavily soiled or stained laundry items.

Available in the “COTTONS”, “PER- MANENT PRESS” and “FINE / DELICATES” programs.

Uses cold water only. This is impor- tant for the removal of protein stains.

No rinsing, spinning or water heating are performed in this cycle.

Add the required amount of deter- gent to compartment i.

“Water plus”

Slightly increases the water level, best used;

For particularly delicate fabrics in ad- dition to the “Gentle wash” option.

In hard water areas, if additional water is required for dispensing the detergent.

In soft water areas to enhance wash- ing and rinsing results.

For people who are skin sensitive to detergents.

The “Water plus” option is available in the following programs:

The wash and rinse cycles for COT- TONS.

The wash cycle for PERMANENT PRESS.

“Gentle wash”

For gentle washing of lighty soiled items, or delicate fabrics which tend to pill.

Drum movement is reduced by half.

Available in the “COTTONS”, “PERMA- NENT PRESS” and “FINE / DELICATES” programs.

“Short”

For lightly soiled items. The length of the main wash is shortened. An addi- tional reduction in temperature is not recommended as this may lead to poor wash results.

Selecting the spin speed

Setting the selector switch to the highest setting saves energy if the laun- dry is to be dried in a tumble dryer. The spin speed in the “PERMANENT PRES- S” and “WOOLENS” program is auto- matically limited to 900 rpm, and in the “FINE / DELICATES” program to

600 rpm.

“Without final spin”

If this option is selected, the laundry will remain suspended in water at the end of the program. This will help reduce creasing when immediate unloading of the drum is not possible.

To drain the water and complete the cy- cle, turn the spin speed selector from “Without final spin” to the desired spin speed. If spinning is not desired, turn the program selector to “Drain”.
