I. PREPARATION FOR OPERATION/START-UP

The following items should be checked before attempting to operate the dryer:

1.Read ALLCAUTION,” “WARNING,” and “DIRECTION” labels attached to the dryer.

2.Check incoming supply voltage to be sure that it is the same as indicated on the dryer data label affixed to the left side panel area behind the top control (access) door.

3.GAS MODELS - check to assure that the dryer is connected to the type of heat/gas indicated on the dryer data label.

4.GAS AND ELECTRIC MODELS - the sail switch damper assembly was installed and adjusted at the factory prior to shipping. However, each sail switch adjustment must be checked to assure that this important safety control is functioning.

5.Check bolts, nuts, screws, terminals, and fittings for tightness and security.

6.GAS MODELS - be sure that ALL gas shutoff valves are in the open position.

7.Check that ALL back guard panels and service box covers have been replaced.

8.Check the lint drawer to assure that it is closed and secured in place.

9.Rotate the basket (tumbler/drum) by hand to be sure it moves freely.

10.STEAM MODELS - check to insure that a clean, dry, regulated air supply (80 PSI [5.51 bars]) is on the dryer (with air operated DAMPER SYSTEM ONLY).

11.STEAM MODELS - check to insure ALL steam shutoff valves are open.

12.STEAM MODELS - check steam damper operation.

13.Check basket (tumbler) bearing setscrews to insure that they are ALL tight.

14.Check vent is connected to the dryer and is exhausted to the outdoors.
