Purpose of Planning Guide

This guide will explain in detail all the aspects of planning for, purchasing, and managing an IBM eserver iSeries with Capacity Upgrade on Demand (permanent capacity). CUoD as defined in this document , is for the Model 825, 870 and 890 announced January 20, 2003 and made generally available Feb 28, 2003. The latest set of V5R2 PTFs (CUM C3077520) is required (See Info APAR II13551 for more details).

This guide is not a capacity planning document ... it will however point out key considerations when using capacity planning tools for a Model 825, 870, and 890.
