3. Editing functions

Editing previously-saved data

Data that you recorded in realtime or by step recording can be recalled again, so that you can edit the data or add an additional performance.

1

Select the performance data that

you saved

Load performance data that you saved in

“Basic recording” or step recording.

(p.51)

2

Edit the data

You can edit data in the “Rec 1/3,” “Rec

2/3” and “Rec 3/3” pages.

“Rec 1/3” page

“KBD” button: The track for data you played on the keyboard and recorded in the “Rec 1/3” page

“Control” button: The track that records controllers and panel operations such as switching automatic accompaniment fills and variations on/off. (p.56 “Control event type list”)

“Chord” button: The track in which the rhythm style chord progression is recorded “Tempo” button: Each time you press the “Tempo” button in the “Rec 1/3” page, the setting will alternate between “Man,” “Auto,” and “Rec.” If the “Func 4/10” page “Sync.” parameter is set to “Ext.” (p.71), the tempo display will be “ =EXT.” In this case it will not be possible to change the tempo on the SP-500, so the setting here will be ignored.

Man: You can adjust the tempo manually.

Auto: The tempo will change according to the data in the tempo track.

Rec: Tempo data will be recorded in the tempo track.

“Rec 2/3” page

Track 1–5 button: These contain keyboard performance data that was recorded in the “Rec 2/3” page.

“Rec 3/3” page

A variety of functions are provided for you to edit recorded data. For details on each item, refer to “Details of the “Rec 3/3” page items”.

Details of the “Rec 3/3” page items

The “Rec 3/3” page provides the following func- tions for editing recorded data.

To access these pages, press the button for the item that you wish to edit.

The procedures explained below will assume that you have already pressed the appropriate button to access the page.

When you return to the “Rec 3/3” page after edit- ing, the edited performance data will be stored automatically.

“Quantize” page

Here you can correct the timing of the recorded performance data.

This function is more flexible than the “Quantize” cell of the “Rec 2/3” page. Since you can select the range of measures and the type of data to be quantized, other measures and other types of data will not be affected.

Recording
