RP21D User’s Guide Section Four - Utilities

To Perform either a Bulk Dump or a System Dump, do the following:

1. Press the Utility button once. Use the Next or Previous Page buttons until you reach page 7. The Display reads:

2.The number three icon is indicating that you must press the number three button in order to access the Bulk Dump function. You can then rotate the Data Wheel to initiate the Bulk Dump. You must have the MIDI out of the RP21D connected to a MIDI recorder and the MIDI recorder must be set to record before initiating the dump. The Display will briefly read ” Midi Bulk Dump” followed by the number ber of bytes it is sending. It will then return to the SysEx Dump page.

3.The number four icon is indicating that you must press the number four button in order to access the System Dump function. You can then rotate the Data Wheel to initiate the System Dump. You must have the MIDI out of the RP21D connected to a MIDI recorder and the MIDI recorder must be set to record before initiating the dump. The Display will briefly read

Sending System Dump.” It will then return to the SysEx Dump page.

Program Dumps

The Program Dump allows you to dump individual RP21D Programs to another RP21D or external MIDI devices like patch librarians, computers, or sequencers for backup, storage, or organization. This option allows you to select the Program to be dumped, and, when dumping to another RP21D, the Program location where you want the Program dumped.

To initiate an individual patch dump from the RP21D, do the following:

1. Press the Utility button once. Use the Next or Previous Page buttons until you reach page 8. The display reads:

User Default Dump

The User Default Dump allows you to dump individual RP21D User defaults to another RP21D or external MIDI devices like patch librarians, computers, or sequencers for backup, storage, or organization. This option allows you to select the default to be dumped.

To initiate an individual Default dump from the RP21D, do the following:

1. Press the Utility button once. Use the Next or Previous Page buttons until you reach page 9. The display reads:
