6.3 User/Attendant Inspection Checklists

Every six months, and as necessary, take your personal transporter to a qualified technician for a thorough inspection and servicing. Refer to 6.4 Service Inspection, page 33.

Weekly, monthly and periodic inspections should be performed by user/attendant between the six month service inspections.

Regular cleaning will reveal loose or worn parts and enhance the smooth operation of your personal transporter. To operate properly and safely, your personal transporter must be cared for just like any other vehicle. Routine maintenance will extend the life and efficiency of your personal transporter.

CAUTION!

As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced.

Inspect/Adjust Weekly

qEnsure that the casters are free of debris.

qInspect tires for flat spots and wear.

qInspect all fasteners.

qEnsure proper operation of powered drive functions.

Inspect/Adjust Monthly

qClean upholstery and armrests.

qClean dirt and lint from axles.

qClean dirt and lint from bearings.

qEnsure that the casters are free of debris.

Setup and Maintenance

qInspect seat positioning strap for any signs of wear. Ensure buckle latches. Verify hardware that attaches strap to frame is secure and undamaged. Replace if necessary.

Inspect/Adjust Periodically

qEnsure personal transporter rolls straight (no excessive drag or pull to one side).

qInspect all fasteners.

qEnsure upholstery does not have any rips or tears.

qEnsure that the casters are free of debris.

qCheck that all labels are present and legible. Replace if necessary.

6.4 Service Inspection

Every six months take your personal transporter to a qualified technician for a thorough inspection and servicing.

Service inspections MUST be performed by a qualified technician.

After ANY adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure that all attaching hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
