NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 5.6 on page 25.

1.Turn the flowrate knob to the setting prescribed by your physician or therapist.

WARNING

DO NOT change the L/min. setting on the flowmeter unless a change has been prescribed by your physician or therapist.

NOTE: To properly read the flowmeter, locate the prescribed flowrate line on the flowmeter. Next, turn the flow knob until the ball rises to the line. Now, center the ball on the L/min. line prescribed.

2.If the flowrate on the flowmeter ever falls below 0.5 L/min. for more than about one minute, the LOW FLOW alarm will be triggered. This is a rapid beeping of the audible alarm. Check your tubing or accessories for blocked or kinked tubing or a defective humidifier bottle. After rated flow is restored, more than 0.5 L/min., the LOW FLOW audible alarm will go off.
