,When the appliance has heated up to the selected setting, the word ‘READY’ appears on the display.
,The bars on the display show the remaining usage time of the appliance.The total usage time is 60 minutes. Every ten minutes one of the six bars disappears.
6Comb or brush your hair so that it is disentangled and smooth. (Fig. 6)
Use a comb to divide the hair into sections. Do not put too much hair in one section.
Tip: It is better to section off the crown area and to straighten the hair underneath first, followed by the top area.
7Take a section of hair that is not wider than 2in. Place it between the straightening plates and press the handles of the appliance firmly together.
8Slide the straightener down the length of the hair in 5 seconds, from root to hair end, without stopping to prevent overheating (Fig. 7).
9Repeat this process after 20 seconds until you have achieved the desired look.
10Let your hair cool down. Do not comb or brush it before it has cooled down, as this would ruin the hairstyle you have just created.
Cleaning and maintenance
This appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. For proper operating performance, the appliance must be kept clean. When cleaning is needed:
1Turn off and unplug the appliance.
2Let the appliance cool down in a safe, dry place out of the reach of children.
3Wipe the plates and the outer surface of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it under the faucet. There are no other user-serviceable parts. For assistance, call 1-800-243-7884.
Storage
Caution: Never allow the power cord to be pulled or twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Damage will occur at the point of entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect the cord frequently for damage. Stop use immediately
if damage is visible or if the appliance stops or operates intermittently. If the cord or appliance is damaged or does not operate properly, stop using it and call 1-800-243-7884 for assistance.
1Turn off and unplug the appliance.
2Let the appliance cool down on a heat- resistant surface out of the reach of children.
3To lock the straightening plates, press the two plates together (1) and press down the closing lock (2). (Fig. 8)
4Store the appliance in a safe, dry location. Do not hang the appliance by its cord. Do not put any stress on the cord, as this could cause the cord to fray and break.
