While the phone is on-hook standby mode, the current date and time is shown on the LCD.

The telephone extension (E.164) number or H323 ID or display name is also displayed on the LCD (if available) while the telephone is on-hook and in standby mode.

Originating (Outgoing) Calls

Users can make calls using a handset or the handsfree feature. (Refer to “Handsfree” on page 27 for a detailed discussion of handsfree operation.)

Using the Handset

To originate a call using the handset:

1.Pick up the handset (the telephone is off-hook).

2.Dial the telephone number (or extension number), or the IP address of the called party.

3Press SELECT key to initiate dialing or wait four seconds after the last digit entered.

Using the Phone Book

To originate a call using the phone book:

1.Press to access the phone book. (Refer to “Phone Book” on page 27 for instructions for adding, editing, or deleting Phone Book entries.)

2.Once the phone book is displayed, use either the or to navigate through the entries.

3.Once the desired entry is displayed in the LCD, press SELECT key to initiate the call.

To cancel out of the phone book, press CANCEL/DEL key.
