Additional Info

The messages on the answering system are incomplete.

If a caller leaves a very long message, part of it might be lost when the answering system disconnects the call after four minutes.

If the memory on the answering system becomes full during a message, the answering system stops recording and disconnects the call.

If the caller’s voice is very soft, the answering system might stop recording and disconnect the call.

The answering system does not respond to remote commands.

Make sure your remote code is correct (page 15).

Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telephone. When dialing a number, there should be tones. If there are clicks, then it is not a touch- tone telephone and cannot activate the answering system.

The answering system might not detect the remote access code when your announcement is playing. Wait until the announcement is over before entering the code.

There might be interference on the telephone line you are using. Press the dial pad keys firmly when dialing.

An shows on the display or the VOICEMAIL light is flashing and I don’t know why.

Your telephone has voicemail indication that is separate from the built-in answering system. If appears on the display or the VOICEMAIL light flashes, then your telephone has received a signal from your telephone service provider that you have a voicemail message waiting for you to retrieve from your telephone service provider. Contact your telephone service provider for more information on how to access your voicemail.

I cannot retrieve voicemail messages.

Your telephone has both a built-in answering system and voicemail indication. They are independent features and each alerts you to new messages differently (page 57). If you subscribe to voicemail service from your telephone service provider (charges may apply), contact your telephone service provider for more information on how to access your voicemail.

The answering system does not answer after the correct number of rings.

Make sure the answering system is on. When the answering system is on, ANS ON should show on the handset and telephone base.
