Getting started

Before you use the telephone for the first time, you must first make sure the battery is charged for 20 hours. If you do not do this, the telephone will not work optimally.

2.3Twin/Triple/Quattro version

If you have purchased a Twin, Triple or Quattro version:

1Plug one end of the adaptor into the outlet and the other end into the adapter jack on the bottom of the charger.

2Insert the battries inside the handset.

3Charge the handset for at least 20 hours.

2.4Installing the Skype software

To be able to make calls over internet, you need a broadband connection and Skype installed on your computer. Download Skype for free from http://www.skype.com/go/getskype. Run the setup and follow the installation procedure.

2.5Installing the phone software

To be able to use the Butler 4872 phone together with Skype, you need to install the phone software on your computer. This software will be the bridge between Skype and the phone. Minimum system requirements:

PC running under Windows XP or 2000;

32 MB free memory;

20 MB free hard disk space;

Internet connection with 56kbps or higher.

1Install the software from the CD included with the phone.

2Insert the CD when the PC is on. If the program doesn’t run automatically, click on the Start icon and select “Run”. Enter D:\CD_Start.exe (if D in not your CD-ROM drive, enter the appropriate letter).

3Click “Install Software”.

The installation wizard will guide you through the process.
