Resetting the Pocket PC Terminal

The reset operation performs a process that is similar to that performed when you restart your computer. Any unsaved inputs or edits remaining when you reset the Pocket PC Terminal are lost, but settings and data stored in memory are retained.

Perform the reset operation whenever you find that the Pocket PC Terminal does not operate normally due to misoperation or some other abnormality.

To perform a reset operation, use the stylus to press the Reset button on the back of the Pocket PC Terminal.

When no memory abnormality is discovered

Resetting the Pocket PC Terminal causes the following screens to appear in sequence.

When a memory abnormality is discovered

Resetting the Pocket PC Terminal causes the following message to appear, without displaying the start screen.

If this message appears, press Action, which starts the reset procedure. Note, however, that you may not be able to perform a reset if memory contents are corrupted. In such a case, you will have to perform a full reset, which is described on the next page.
