Problem	Cause & solution
Static is heard, sound	L Move the handset and the base unit away from other
cuts in and out.	electrical appliances.
Interference from other	L Move closer to the base unit.

	L Turn on the clarity booster feature (page 20).
	L If your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL
	service, we recommend connecting a noise filter
	between the base unit and the telephone line jack.
	Contact your ADSL provider for details.
The handset does not	L The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page 33).

I cannot make a call.	L If the base unit (including answering system) or the
	other handset is in use, you may not be able to make a
	call. Try again later.
	L While listening to messages using the handset, you
	cannot make a call. Exit by pressing {OFF}.
	L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 37.
	L If the above remedies do not solve the probrem, set the
	dialling mode. Press {MENU} {0} {5} {1} {Save}
	{OFF}.
	L The unit is not designed to be used with rotary (pulse
	dialling) services.
I cannot redial by	L If the last number dialled was more than 48 digits long,
pressing {REDIAL}.	the number will not be redialled correctly.
	L If you press {REDIAL} after you have started dialling,
	this button functions as the {PAUSE} button. To redial,
	do not dial any numbers before pressing {REDIAL}.
	L Dial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page 37.
I cannot have a	L Make sure that an optional headset is connected
