10. TROUBLESHOOTING

No sound, low-level sound.

Check the audio output level setting (see section 9 “Setup”).

Note:

DVDs often seem quieter than CDs due to their high dynamic range.

No sound or picture.

Press the [A/V] button to make sure you are not in A/V input mode.

“Tinny” sound.

Check the “Downmix” setting in the SETUP menus and ensure that it is set to “Stereo,” not “LT/RT.”

Loud, distorted sound

Check the setting of the Audio Output Level - it may be too high. (See “Special Installer Output Adjustments”, under Setup.)

Picture “rolls.”

Check that the TV Type setting is correct for the monitors and DVDs being used (see “Changing the Video Output Mode”). PAL video often “rolls” on NTSC monitors.

With a widescreen 16:9 monitor, I have black bars on the screen.

Change the TV Display mode to “Wide.”

Unit does not eject.

Make sure the VS735 is powered on, and that the “Disc Loaded” icon in the front-panel display is illuminated.

Press the Reset button with a bent paper clip and try again (note that the Reset button will clear the memory settings).

VS735 does not operate.

Verify the DCP is completely and correctly attached. Press the Reset button with a bent paper clip.
