SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Installation and servicing of air-conditioning equipment can be hazardous due to system pressure and electrical com- ponents. Only trained and quali®ed personnel should install, repair, or service air-conditioning equipment.

Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance func- tions of cleaning coils and ®lters. All other operations should be performed by trained service personnel. When working on air-conditioning equipment, observe precautions in the literature, tags and labels attached to the unit, and other safety precautions that may apply.

Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Use quenching cloth for unbrazing operations. Have ®re ex- tinguisher available for all brazing operations.

Before performing service or maintenance operations on system, turn off main power to unit. Turn off accessory heater power switch if applicable. Electrical shock can cause personal injury.

General Ð 50SS,SX cooling units are fully self-contained and designed for outdoor installation. See Fig. 1. As shown in Fig. 2-9, both small- and large-cabinet units are shipped in a horizontal-discharge con®guration for installation on a ground-level slab. All units can be converted to down- ¯ow discharge con®gurations for rooftop applications. See Fig. 10 for roof curb dimensions.
