F. Clearance

Even though there are many ways to affix your workpiece to the Shop Fox®, there is one thing in com- mon with all of these arrangements. You must have the proper clearance between the Shop Fox®, the clamps and the cutting/sanding tool. It is imperative that all clamping methods be done correctly and inspected for proper clearance. Make a trial run with the power off and the plug pulled. It only takes a few seconds to do this and is well worth the effort.

WARNING: When adjusting the Shop Fox® or sta- tionary machine, always turn the machine off, make sure it has come to a complete stop and pull the plug from the outlet or interrupt power at the disconnect switch BEFORE performing such duties.

Figure 11. Testing for clearance. Shift clamps if they

come close to contacting the cutting tool.
