Do not touch the Laser pickup lens. If fingerprints or dust accumulate on the pickup, clean it gently with a dry cotton swab.

If this product is subjected to strong external inter- ference (mechanical shock, excessive static elec- tricity, abnormal supply voltage due to light-ning, etc.) or if it is operated incorrectly, it may malfunc- tion or the display may not function correctly. If such a problem occurs, do the following:

1 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode.

2 Press the ON/STAND-BY button whilst holding down the EQUALIZER button and the PLAY button.

Caution:

The operation explained above will erase all data stored in memory including clock and timer settings, and tuner, MD and CD presets.

External care

Periodically wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth and a diluted soap solution, then wipe with a dry cloth.

Do not use chemically treated cleaning cloths or other chemicals.

Care of compact discs

NO

YES

Correct

Compact discs are fairly resistant to damage, how- ever mistracking can occur due to an accumulation of dirt on the disc surface.

Follow the guidelines below for maximum enjoy- ment from your CD collection and player.

Do not write on either side of the disc, particu- larly the non-label side.

Signals are read from the non-label side. Do not mark this surface.

Keep your discs away from direct sunlight, heat, and excessive moisture.

Always hold the CDs by the edges. Fingerprints, dirt, or water on the CDs can cause noise or mistracking. If a CD is dirty or does not play prop- erly, clean it with a soft, dry cloth, wiping straight out from the centre, along the radius.
