2.4 End-Bus RAID Cluster Layout - (SCSI Bus Interconnect)

To connect two HP host servers to a RAID subsystem located on the end of the SCSI bus (e.g., an End-Bus RAID cluster layout), reference Figure 2-3 and follow these steps:

1.Attach a Y-cable (BN21W-0B) to the HD68-pin host adapter on Host A.

2.Attach a Y-cable (BN21W-0B) to the HD68-pin host adapter on Host B.

3.Attach one end of the HD68-pin straight-thru cable (BN21K-05) to a convenient end of the Y-cable attached to Host A.

4.Connect the other end of the cable to a convenient end of the Y-cable attached to Host B.

5.Attach the compatible end of the 5M adapter cable (BN38C-05) to the available end of the HD68-pin Y-cable attached to Host B.

6.Connect the other (VHDCI-compatible) end of the adapter cable to the available end of a tri-link connector on a subsystem controller.

7.Connect terminator H8863-AA to the available end of a tri-link connector on a subsystem controller.

8.Connect terminator H879-AA to the available end of the Y-cable attached to Host A.
