USB/Card Reader board (includes cable)

Before removing the USB/Card Reader board, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 37), and then remove the following components:

a.memory module compartment cover (see Memory module on page 42)

b.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 50)

c.Top cover (see Top cover on page 52)

Remove the processor USB/Card Reader board:

1.Release the ZIF connector to which the USB/Card Reader board cable is connected, and then disconnect the USB/Card Reader board cable (1) from the system board.

2.Release the USB/Card Reader board cable (2) from the base enclosure. (The USB/Card Reader board cable is attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape).

3.Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (3) that secure the USB/Card Reader board to the base enclosure.
