Power connector cable

Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 37), and then remove the following components:

a.memory module compartment cover (see Memory module on page 42)

b.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 50)

c.Top cover (see Top cover on page 52)

Remove the power connector cable:

1.Disconnect the power cable (1) from the system board.

2.Release the power cable from the clips (2) built into the base enclosure.

3.Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screw (3) that secures the power connector to the base enclosure.

4.Release the power connector (4) from the clip built into the base enclosure.

5.Remove the power connector cable.

Reverse this procedure to install the power connector cable.
