Turning on power
Turn the camera on by sliding the
lens cover/power switch open so that the camera lens is exposed.
The Memory/USB light will blink while the camera is turning on, and the Image Display will turn
on to Live View mode when the camera is ready to use.
Restoring previous settings
When you change settings in the camera, some of them remain set and some return to their default value when the camera is turned off. For a complete list of which settings do what, see Remembered and default camera settings on page 97.
If you want to turn the camera on with all of the settings that were in effect when the camera was last turned off, hold down the OK button when you turn on the camera
Choosing the language
The first time you turn the camera on, the following screen appears and prompts you to choose a language.
1Scroll to the language that you
want by using the 
buttons.
2Press the OK button to select the highlighted language.
NOTE If you need to go back and
change this setting later, you can do this in the Setup menu. See Chapter 6: Using the setup menu on page 57.
