3. Plug the tape-drive power cord into the drive.

Tape-drive power cord

NOTE: If it is ever necessary to cycle the power to your HP Colorado drive, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. There is no power switch on the tape drive.

The power supply is designed to automatically switch into low-energy mode when the drive is not in use. The HP Colorado tape drive may be safely left plugged in at all times.

4.Locate the parallel port connector on your computer (your printer might already be attached to the parallel port).

Select any available parallel port. Your tape drive can share a parallel port with a printer.

Parallel ports have receptacles for 25 pins.

If you have a printer attached to your computer, go to the next step.

If you do not have a printer attached, proceed to step 6.
