Use this stitch to join two pieces of fabric to create an open work appearance, and add design interest.

Fold under each fabric edge 1/2˝ (1.3 cm) and press.

Pin the two edges to a piece of paper or tear- away backing 1/8˝ (0.3 cm) apart.

Sew slowly, guiding the fabric so the needle

qcatches the folded edge on each side.

Tear away the backing after sewing is finished.

Open fabrics flat and fold each seam allowances.
