It can happen that the control lamp 6 glows im- mediately, as soon as you connect the appliance with the mains power source. This means that the On switch 2 was already pressed down when the connection was made. In this case, the boiling pro- cess starts immediately. Therefore, always check that the control lamp 6 is glowing, this shows that it is heating up.

•Press the ON switch 2.

•The control lamp 6 indicates that the appliance is now heating the water up.

•The appliance switches itself off and the control lamp 6 goes out as soon as the water is on the boil.

Never submerse any parts of the appliance in water or other liquids! This can create the risk of a life-threatening electrical shock if residual liquid comes into contact with powered com- ponents.

Injury hazard

Remove the power cable from the wall socket be- fore cleaning. Risk of electric shock! Allow the appliance to cool down. Risk of Burns!

•Clean the outside surfaces and the power cable 4 with a slightly damp dish cloth. Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use.

•Never use detergents, abrasive cleaners or solvents. These can damage the appliance.

Notice

You cannot stop the boiling process manually. Should you wish to stop the boiling process you must disconnect the plug from the power socket.

Warning

ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket before pouring water from the appliance. Otherwise, water could possibly land on the electrical contacts and cause an electric shock!

Cleaning and Care

Do not open any part of the housing. There are no user-servicable elements inside. An open housing can create the risk of a lethal electrical shock.

In the event of scale deposits:

•Obtain any decalcifying agent suitable for kitchen utensils (e.g. decalcifiers for coffee machines) from a hardware shop. Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the de- calcfying agent.

Storage

Allow the appliance to cool off completely before putting it into storage.

•Wind the power cable 4 around the power cable retainer 3, as shown on the fold-out side (Fig. ).

•Store the appliance in a dry place.
