Water Inlet

Air Cooled Models: Use 3 8" O.D. copper tubing to connect cold potable water to the 3 8" male flare fitting at the back of the cabinet. Install a hand valve near the machine to control the water supply. Water Treatment: In most areas, a water filter of some type will be useful. In areas where the water is highly concentrated with minerals the water should be tested by a water treatment specialist, and the recommendations of the specialist regarding filtration and/or treatment should be followed.

Water Cooled Models: Connect a separate 3 8" O.D. copper line, with a separate hand valve, to the 3 8" FPT condenser inlet at the back of the cabinet. The water pressure to all lines must always be above 20 PSIG, and below 80 PSIG.

Air Cooled Models: Connect a drain tube to the ¾" FPT drain at the back of the cabinet, the drain line is of the gravity type, and ¼ inch per foot fall is an acceptable pitch for the drain tubing. There should be a vent at the highest point of the drain line, and the ideal drain receptacle would be a trapped and vented floor drain.

Use only ¾" rigid tubing.

Water Cooled Models: In addition to the above mentioned drain, a separate condenser drain must be installed. Connect it to the ½" condenser drain connection at the back of the cabinet.

Storage Bin: Install a separate gravity type drain, similar to the air cooled drain. Insulation of this drain line is recommended.

FME504, FME804, NME654, NME454 specifications

Scotsman Ice Systems is known for its high-quality ice machines, and models such as the NME454, NME654, FME804, and FME504 are no exceptions. Designed with both performance and efficiency in mind, these machines cater to various business needs, from restaurants to convenience stores.

The NME454 and NME654 units are renowned for their compact design, making them ideal for establishments with limited space. Despite their smaller size, these machines do not compromise on ice production capacity. The NME454 can produce up to 430 pounds of ice per day, while the NME654 boasts an impressive output of up to 600 pounds. Both models utilize Scotsman's signature innovative technology to ensure consistent ice quality, primarily in the form of nugget ice, which is favored for its ability to cool beverages quickly.

In contrast, the FME804 and FME504 are larger-capacity machines that cater to high-volume requirements. The FME804 can produce around 800 pounds of ice daily, making it suitable for busy restaurants or bars. The FME504, while slightly smaller, still offers impressive production capabilities of up to 500 pounds per day. These machines incorporate advanced features such as the AquaArmor protective layer, which inhibits bacterial growth, ensuring that the ice produced is not only abundant but also hygienic.

All four models utilize an innovative air-cooled design that enhances energy efficiency and reduces operational costs. The easy-to-use control panel allows for straightforward operation, and maintenance is streamlined thanks to easily accessible components. Additionally, the quiet operation of the machines ensures that they can be used in front-of-house areas without distracting customers.

In terms of construction, Scotsman ice machines are built to last with corrosion-resistant materials, ensuring longevity in demanding environments. With simple installation processes and compatibility with various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, these units provide adaptability for any business scenario.

Overall, Scotsman’s NME454, NME654, FME804, and FME504 ice machines combine robust performance with innovative technology, catering efficiently to diverse ice production needs while maintaining high standards of hygiene and reliability.
