GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Alwaysobservesafetyruleswhenperforming anytypeof maintenance.

Thewarrantyon thislawnmowerdoesnot coveritemsthathave beensubjectedto operatorabuseor negligence.To receivefull valuefromwarranty,operatormustmaintainthe lawnmoweras

instructedhere.

AIiadjustmentsshouldbecheckedat leastonceeach season.

Periodicallycheckall fastenersandmakesurethesearetight.

LUBRICATION

Alwaysstopthe motorandremovekeybeforecleaning,lubricating or performingany repairsor maintenanceonthe lawnmower. Alwayswearsafetyglassesduringoperationorwhileperformingany adjustmentsor repairs.

Lubricatethe wheelsat leastoncea seasonwithlightoil (ormotor oil). If wheelsareremovedfor any reason,lubricatesurfaceof the pivotarm andinnersurfaceof the wheelwithlightoil.

DECK CARE

The undersideof mowerdeckshouldbecleanedaftereachuseas

grassclippings,leaves,dirt andotherdebriswill accumulateThis.

accumulationof grassclippings,etc.,is undesirableas it will promote rustandcorrosion.

1.Removeany buildupof grassandleavesonor aroundthe motor cover(donot usewater).Wipe the mowercleanwitha dry cloth occasionally.

Toreducethe riskof electricshock,donot exposethe mowerto water.

2.Ifdebrisis allowedto buildup onthe undersideof the unit,tiltthe mowerandscrapeit cleanwitha suitabletool(makecertainthe keyis removed).

REPLACING TRAILING SHIELD

Neveroperatemowerunlessthe trailingshieldis inplaceand working.Neveroperatemowerwithdamagedsafetydevices.Failure to doso,can resultinpersonalinjury.

The trailingshieldis subjectto wearanddamagewhichcouldexpose movingpartsor allowobjectsto bethrown.For safetyprotection, frequentlycheckthe trailingshieldand replaceimmediatelywith originalequipmentmanufacturer's(OEM)partonly,listedinthis manual.

To removetrailingshield,lift reardoor,andbend(bow)the trailing shieldinwardoneachside to releasetabsfromthe holesinthe mowerframe.SeeFigure11.
