PARKING BRAKE

Tosetthe parkingbrake,fullydepressthe brakepedal.Movethe parkingbrakeleverintothe ON position.Releasethebrakepedalto allowthe parkingbraketo engage.

Toreleasethe parkingbrake,depressthe brakepedaland movethe parkingbrakeleverout of the ONpositionandinto the OFFposition.

NOTE: The parkingbrakemustbe setif the operatorleavesthe seat withthe enginerunningor the enginewill automaticallyshutoff.

AMMETER

Theammetermeasuresthe electricaloutputof the engine'scharging system.Undernormaloperatingconditions,withengineat full throttle, the ammetershouldindicatepositivecharge.

THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL LEVER

Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris locatedonthe right sideof the trac- CHOKE

tor'sdash panel.This levercontrols

the speedof the engineand, when FAST pushedall thewayforward,the chokecontrolalso. Whensetin

agivenposition,thethrottlewill maintaina uniformenginespeed.

iMPORTANT: Whenoperating the tractorwiththe cuttingdeck engaged,becertainthatthe throttle

Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO, moveshift leverintoneutralposition,setparkingbrake,stopengine andremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.

Toadjusttheseatforwardorbackwardonunitsequippedwithaquick- adjustseat,slidethe seatadjustmentleverto theleftandrepositionthe seatto thedesiredpositionOnceacomfortablepositionisfound,release. the seatadjustmentleverto locktheseatinplace.Referto theAssembly of thismanualformoredetailedinstructionsontheseatadjustments.

BRAKE PEDAL

The brakepedalis locatedon the leftside of the lawntractor,along the runningboard.Depressthe brakepedalpartof thewaydownto slowthe tractor'sgroundspeed. Depressthe pedalallthe waydownto engagethe discbrakeandbringthetractorto a completestop.

NOTE: The pedalmustbe depressedto startthe engine.Referto SafetyInterlockSwitchesin theOperationSectionof this manual.
