SAFETY iNTERLOCK SYSTEM

Thesafety interlocksystemisdesignedfor safeoperationof thetrac- tor. Ifthis systemshouldever malfunction,do not operatethe tractor, immediatelycontact1-800-4-MY-HOMEto havethe systemserviced.

Thesafetyinterlocksystempreventsthe enginefromstarting unlessthe parkingbrakeis engagedandthe PTO(BladeEngage) leveris in thedisengaged(OFF)position.

Thesafety interlocksystemwill automaticallyshutoffthe engine if the operatorleavesthe seatbeforeengagingthe parkingbrake. Thesafetyinterlocksystemwill automaticallyshutoffthe engine ifthe operatorleavesthe tractor'sseatwiththe PTO(Blade Engage)leverengaged,regardlessof whetherthe parkingbrake is engaged.

4.Onceactivated(indicatorlight ON),the tractorcan be driven in reversewiththe cuttingblades(PTO)engaged.

5.Alwayslook downand behindbeforeand whilebackingto make sureno childrenarearound.

6.After resumingforwardmotion,returnthe keyto the NORMAL MOWINGposition.

IMPORTANT: The REVERSECAUTIONMODEwill remainactivated until:

a.The keyis placedineitherthe NORMALMOWINGposition or STOPposition.

b.The operatorengagesthe parkingbrakeby fullydepressing the clutch-brakepedalandholdingit downwhilemovingthe speedcontrolleverinto the PARKBRAKEposition.

REVERSE CAUTION MODE

Useextremecautionwhileoperatingthetractorin the REVERSE CAUTIONMODE.Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeandwhile backing.Do notoperatethe tractorwhenchildrenor othersare around.Stopthe tractorimmediatelyif someoneentersthe area.

The REVERSECAUTIONMODEpositionof the keyswitchmodule allowsthe tractorto beoperatedin reversewiththe blades(PTO) engaged.

IMPORTANT: Mowingin reverseis not recommended. Touse the REVERSECAUTIONMODE:

IMPORTANT: The operatorMUSTbeseatedinthe tractorseat.

1.Startengineas instructedin the StartingThe Enginesection.

2.Turnthe keyfromthe NORMALMOWING(Green)positionto the REVERSECAUTIONMODE(Yellow)positionof the keyswitch module.SeeFigure8.

ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE

To engage the parking brake:

1.Fullydepressthe clutch-brakepedaland hold itdownwithyour foot.

2.Movethe speedcontrolleverall the waydownandinto the parkingbrakeposition.

3.Releasethe clutch-brakepedalto allowthe parkingbraketo engage.

To release the parking brake:

1.Depressthe clutch-brakepedaland movethe speedcontrol leverout of the parkingbrakepositionandintoa desiredspeed.

SETTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT

1.Selectthe heightpositionof the cuttingdeck by placingthe deck lift leverin anyof the sixdifferentcuttingheightnotcheson the right sideof the fender.

2.Adjustthe deck wheelssothattheyarebetween1A-inchand 1/2-inchabovethe groundwhenthe tractoris ona smooth,fiat surfacesuchas a driveway.

To adjust Deck Wheels:

1.Removethe flangelocknuton the shoulderbolt securingthe deckwheel.

2.Positionthe wheelto thedesiredheightas listedabove.

3.Securethe shoulderboltwiththe flangelocknut.

Keephandsandfeetawayfromthe dischargeopeningof the cutting deck.

NOTE: Thedeckwheelsarean anti-scalpfeatureof the deckand are notdesignedto supportthe weightof the cuttingdeck. Referto Levelingin the Maintenance& Servicesectionof thismanualfor more detailedinstructionsregardingvariousdeckadjustments.
