Charging with the Battery out of the Mower

1.Remove the Battery from the Mower.

2.Remove the Protective Plug from the Charger Receptacle on the Battery and plug in the round Charger Connector (Figure 25).

3.Plug the Charger into a standard 110V wall outlet. The RED light on the Battery will light up indicating a connection between the Battery and the Charger.

NOTE: The RED light on the Battery only indicates that the Charger and Battery are connected – the Charger and the light will not automatically turn off or the light change color when charging is complete. As with charging in the Mower, a full charge takes at least eight

(8)hours, and may take up to twenty-four (24) hours. For the first five (5) hours, the Charger will be warm to the touch. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.

ALWAYS KEEP THE BATTERY IN A DRY PLACE.

Disconnecting the Charger

Remember to disconnect the Battery from the Charger using this sequence:

1.Pull the plug from the Charger out of the wall outlet.

2.Disconnect the Charger from the Battery and replace the Protective Plug.

ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE CHARGER FROM THE ELECTRICAL (WALL) OUTLET FIRST, AND THEN DISCONNECT THE ROUND CHARGER PLUG FROM THE BATTERY. IF YOU REMOVE THE ROUND CHARGER PLUG FIRST, THE EXPOSED CONNECTOR COULD BE ACCIDENTALLY SHORT-CIRCUITED BY FOREIGN MATERIAL, WHICH MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE.

Recharging after each use of the Mower

Always fully recharge the Battery immediately after each use; no matter how short a time you used it. Fully recharge even if the Status Indicator Light on the Mower is still green. This is important in order to maintain maximum Mower performance and extend the useful life of the Battery. If you are using the Mower and the green Indicator Light goes out, suggesting low Battery charge, then you should stop using the Mower and either replace or recharge the Battery.

Unlike “Smart Batteries” found in devices such as cell phones, you should NOT run the NEUTON Mower Battery until completely drained. You will reduce the long-term performance of the Battery if allowed to run to full depletion.

Leaving the Battery on the Charger for an extended time (up to six (6) months in cold climates) will not damage the Battery. It will not overcharge the NEUTON Battery.
