HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL HINTS TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR BLACK & DECKER

CORDLESS MOWER...AND KEEP YOUR LAWN LOOKING BEAUTIFUL

1. Lawns should first be mowed in the spring when the grass is about 21/2- to 3 inches (63mm) ot (76mm) high. Mowing too early restricts the grass root systems which renew themselves everyspring. New grass should be mowed when itis about 2-1/2 inches(63mm) high.

2. Do not remove too much grass bladesurface at one time...never more than 1/3 of the leaf height during each cutting. Cutting too close “shocks” sen- sitive grass blades, resulting in a shallow root system and thus making it more difficult for your lawn to reach water in the soil.

3. Lawn care experts say that excessively close cutting is responsiblefor much of the difficulty experienced on manylawns. The depth and strength of the roots of grass are almost exactly proportional to its growth.Grasses of mature lawns often are seriously injured when mowed shorter than 1-1/2 inches (38mm), and a height of 1-1/2 to 2 inches (38mm)to (51mm) is preferred on large awnsl.

4. Mow your lawn when it is dry to avoid clumping of wetgrass. If you have a choice, late afternoon isthe ideal time for mowing, not only because the grass is dry, but also becausethe sensitive new cut area of the grass will not be exposed to intense sunlight.

5. Keep the mowing blade sharp for a nice clean cut. This improves the mowerʼs performance and enhances the look of your lawn. A dul blade shatters and bruises the tips of the grass. This impairs the healthy growth of your lawn and increases susceptibility to turf diseases. If the grass tips are bruised it causes a brownish colour andgives your lawnan unhealthyappearance. A dull blade may also pull up youngseedlings.

6. Try to mow your lawn at the same(consistent) cutting height. Whileheret are times when you should vary the cutting height with the changing sea- sons, a consistent cutting height produces a healthier, lovelier lawn with generally fewer weeds. Mow more frequently during periods of fast growth. Frequentcutting ensures thatthe lower, less attractive portion of thegrass will not show.

7. If your lawn has grown too long, (a vacation, for example, may interrupt your cutting schedule) mow at a cutting height one or two positions higher than normal. A second passat “normal” cutting height a few days later will put your lawn back on schedule. Changing the cutting height is a simple matter with Black & DeckerʼsSingle Lever Wheel Height Adjustment, which simultaneously adjusts all four wheels at once.

8. During the spring and fall, (or after an interruption to the cutting schedule) the grass will be longer and thicker. If the motor continually slows down while cutting, trysetting thewheels for a higher cutting height. Excessive motor loading can result in uneven cutting and quicker discharge of the battery.

9. Three good ideas to enhance your lawnʼs appearance: Vary the mowing direction frequently; mow horizontally on hillsides; (this is also a good safety practice) and do not forget to overlap the mowing path on each pass.

10. Always mow grass so that clippings are discharged onto cut lawn. This will keep your lawn looking fresh by avoiding “Cut Grass” build-up which will eventually brown and appearugly. This method also preserves yourbattery charge, ensuring you get the most from your Black & Decker Cordless Power Mower.

11. During the spring and fall seasonswhen the grass is longer nda thicker, you can use your mower without its battery being fully recharged. (i.e. green charge indication light is on). This will enable you to perform horts cutting tasks, but we donʼt recommend this be done frequently. The battery and

mower perform much better ifchargedfully.

This mower is particularly favored for its combination of power, portability, and ease of use, making it ideal for maintaining medium-sized lawns.

One of the standout features of the CM1836 is its powerful 36-volt battery system. This lithium-ion battery offers ample runtime to mow up to a quarter of an acre on a single charge, making it perfect for residential use. The battery is removable, allowing for easy charging or swapping with an additional battery, which can extend mowing time without the need for long cords.

Another significant technology incorporated in the CM1836 is its Efficient Design. The mower includes a 18-inch cutting deck, which strikes a balance between sufficient cutting width and maneuverability. This makes it suitable for navigating tighter spaces in your yard while still providing a respectable cutting area. Additionally, the mower is equipped with an adjustable cutting height with options ranging from 1 to 3 inches, allowing users to customize the cut based on their lawn's needs.

The CM1836 also features a lightweight design, weighing in at around 38 pounds. This makes it easy to push and maneuver, reducing fatigue during longer mowing sessions. The mower’s handle is foldable, which not only enhances portability but also makes storage more convenient.

In terms of maintenance, the Black & Decker CM1836 excels with its ease of upkeep. The mower employs a durable, impact-resistant deck material that withstands the rigors of regular use. There are no gas engines or oil to maintain, which significantly reduces the hassle associated with traditional mowers. Moreover, the mower's design allows for easy access to the cutting blade, facilitating straightforward blade maintenance.

Safety is also a priority in the design of the CM1836. It includes a safety switch that prevents the mower from starting accidentally, ensuring that users can operate it with confidence.

Overall, the Black & Decker CM1836R/CM1836 presents a user-friendly option for those seeking a reliable and efficient cordless mower, blending modern technology with functional design to deliver a powerful lawn care tool.
