Loading System | Before loading the system software on the LMM+, verify that the host | |
Software on | computer, which has a copy of the updated system software, is connected | |
the LMM+ | to the CoreBuilder 6000 system. | |
You can load the system software into flash memory while the system is operating. You do not need to bring the system down. After the flash install is completed, a quick reboot puts the newly loaded software to use.
If you are loading software from a PC host, the FTP server software must be running on the PC before you begin this procedure.
Loading 8.2.0 software into flash memory takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete, depending on your network load.
To load the new software:
1From the top level of the Administration Console, enter:
system softwareUpdate
The system prompts you for the Host IP address, Install file name, User name, and Password. The current default values are displayed in brackets [ ]. Press [Return] to accept the default values. The Password field does not display what you enter.
2Next to Host IP address, enter the IP address of the host machine (such as a Sun workstation or PC) from which you are installing the software.
In the example in step 5, the IP address of the host is 192.9.200.96.
