10. Loosen, but do not remove lock nuts (H) on
both the upper and lower belt tension
assemblies. See Figure 4-3.
11. Turn belt adjustment screws (J) clockwise on
both the upper and lower tension assemblies
until belt is loose. See Figure 4-3.
12. Locate the belt lacing (joint) by turning the belt
manually. Remove the pin with pliers. Remove
and discard old belt.
13. Install the new belt around drive rollers and
insert new pin. Pin must not extend beyond
edge of belt.
Note – Before installing new drive belt,check the belt inside surface for drivedirection arrows and install belt accordingly.If no arrows are shown, the belt may beinstalled either way.
14. To set drive belt tension, turn adjustment
screws (J) equally on both the upper and lower
tension assemblies. Turn the screws
counterclockwise to increase tension or
clockwise to decrease tension. See Figure 4-3.
Use a force gauge to pull the belt outward
25 mm [1 in] at midspan, as shown in
Figure 4-4 with a moderate pulling force of
3.5 kg [7 lbs].
15. After adjusting belt tension, tighten lock nuts (H)
on both the upper and lower tension assemblies.
16. Reverse procedures in Steps 1-6 to complete
drive reassembly.
17. Repeat procedure for other belt.
