Standard Operation Procedures of Password Bypassing and BIOS Recovery
Bios/KBC update :
The firmware are combined into one binary file and support both DOS and Windows mode update
- DOS mode
DO make sure you have plugged in the AC adapter to prevent flashing failure.
Before flashing the BIOS, you should unzip the compressed file to one directory.
a. Plug in the AC adapter.
b. Unzip HIC100WW to C:\ HIC100WW.
c. Boot to pure DOS.
d. It is better not to load HIMEM.sys (bypass CONFIG.sys).
e. To flash the BIOS by Phoenix flash utility, use "*.wph" ROM file to update the BIOS via the following
command: C:\ HIC100WW \POM.BAT
- Windows mode

c. Boot to pure Windows.
d. To flash the BIOS by WFlash utility to update the BIOS via double click C:\ HIC100WW \Windows\
BIOSV1.00.exe
Password Bypassing and Bios Recovery :
For RD and CSD to debug easily, TM5520/TM5220/EX5420/EX5120/TM7520/TM7220/EX7420/EX7120
provides one hardware PIN pad for Bypassing Password Check, and one Hotkey to enable BIOS Recovery.
1. PIN pad : To short PIN pad to bypass password check.
2. Hotkey to enable BIOS Recovery: Fn+ESC, then Power Button, AC+DC coexistence is strongly
recommended.
Bypassing Password Check : If the user has set Password (power-on or setup password) for security reason,
BIOS will check password during POST or when entering the BIOS setup menu. However, if it is necessary to
ignore the password check, the user may enable short PIN Pad to bypass password check.
BIOS Recovery: Boot Block is a special block of BIOS. It is used to boot up the system with minimum BIOS
initialization. The user can enable this feature to restore the BIOS to a successful one if previous BIOS flashing
process fails.
