Installing the Device Driver

Before you continue, ensure that you have:

❏Reviewed About Wireless Technology and LANs on page 42 for a basic overview of WLANs.

❏Installed the Wireless USB Adapter. See page 4.

The next step on the Installation Task List (page 3) is to install the device driver. A device driver is a software program that lets your adapter communicate with your computer.

To install the device driver, follow the instructions for your operating system:

■For Windows XP, see page 7.

■For Windows 2000, see page 9.

■For Windows Me, see page 12.

■For Windows 98SE, see page 14.
