APPENDIX A: ALLOWABLE AMPACITIES OF INSULATED CONDUCTORS

This appendix provides guidelines for selecting AWG wire size based on the temperature rating of the conductor and the anticipated load. The information contained is from Table 310-16 of the National Electrical Code document, ANSI/NPFA 70 (1978).

Note: Information for aluminum conductors has been omitted from the table here because copper conductors only are recommended for use with the ADC panel.

Table 310-16 (NEC): Allowable Ampacities of Insulated Conductors, Rated O Through 2000 Volts, 60° to 90°C (140° to 194°F), Not More Than Three Current-Carrying Conductors in Raceway or Cable or Earth (Directly Buried), Based on Ambient Temperature of 30°C (86°F)
